Developed in partnership with Google and Intel, TAG Heuer has announced its first smartwatch, the Carrera Wearable 01. Also known as the TAG Heuer Connected, the watch is due to launch on November 9th and will retail for a whopping $1,800.
The company has launched an official site for the smartwatch, counting down to the launch date. The headline reads, “TAG Heuer is pushing the Swiss avant-garde limits even further with the TAG Heuer Connected. Tradition meets innovation, craftsmanship meets savoir-faire, and bold style meets breakthrough technology. The clock is ticking to the major breakthrough.” The company’s CEO Jean-Claude Biver claims that it was the “biggest announcement ever” for the luxury Swiss watchmaker.
With the significant price difference, the question remains whether the TAG Heuer Connected will be able to rival competitors like the Apple Smartwatch.
