While there are innumerable smartwatches on the market, LG’s newly announced second-generation Watch Urbane is the first Android Wear smartwatch with LTE. The new Watch Urbane LTE is the very definition of a luxury watch that doubles as a digital companion. It offers typical biometric measurements, including a heart-rate sensor, barometer, pedometer, gyroscope and compass, but has markedly taken it up a notch with the addition of new features.

The new smartwatch has a round 1.33-inch P-OLED display with 480 X 480 resolution, compared to the original Urbane’s 1.3-inch 320 X 320 resolution. Available in an array of colors matching the LG V10 smartphone, the watch has a 316L stainless steal casing making it water and dust-resistant. The sleek, polished exteriors encompass a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 768MB of Ram and 4GB of internal storage. The Wi-Fi and Cellular antennas have been fixed inside the band and not the watchcase. Another distinguishing feature aside from the faster cellular connectivity is the battery life. Watch Urbane’s higher-capacity 570 mAh battery is significantly superior to that of its competitors.

LG has not announced pricing or availability, but did mention that the smartwatch will be released in the U.S. and South Korea first.
