Originating as workman’s wear, jeans are now a worldwide staple of high fashion, devoid of any real function. The new #Hello line of women’s jeans from Joe’s Jeans, which allows iPhone users to charge their phones directly from the pants, could change that.
Each of the four jeans in the line of skinny-style denim—dubbed Cecily, Aria, Kalia and Regan—includes a discreet back pocket that fits either the iPhone 5, 5S or 6. The waistband, meanwhile, hides a tiny portable battery back and USB cord. According to iDigitalTimes, the batteries may only charge the iPhone 5 and 5S up to 85 percent, and the iPhone 6 up to 70 percent, but fashionistas may be willing to accept that. After all, they’d just need to slip their phone back into the pocket—no search for an available wall outlet necessary.
