According to Lumo Bodytech, back pain is the “most prevalent source of chronic pain, and the leading cause of disability for Americans under the age of 45.” Improving posture can strengthen your core and supporting muscles protecting the back. The Lumo Lift is a small, lightweight wearable solution to poor posture.

Using a secure magnetic clasp, the device is clipped on the individual’s shirt below the collarbone. The device uses unique biometric motion sensors to track posture and activity levels throughout the day, and gently vibrates every time the user slouches as a reminder to stand straight or sit tall. Taking the alerts a step further, the customizable time delay for vibrational feedback creates a personalized posture coaching experience.

According to the company’s website, the Lumo Lift enables a user to set custom goals, get posture coaching, track posture and activity (steps taken, distance travelled, calories burned), and track progress. The device can be paired to iOS, Android and Windows 7 desktop devices.

The Lumo Lift sensor is made of electroplated thermoset plastic and weighs a mere 11.50 g. The magnetic clasp made of solid aluminum adds to the total weight by only 1.00 g and the lithium polymer battery can last up to 5 days on a single charge.

The device is priced at $79.99 and can be purchased both on Lumo Bodytech’s website and Amazon.
