Polar has just announced the A360, a wrist worn device that can monitor steps, calories, daily activity, work outs and sleep patterns. The A360 is also the first wearable band that encompasses an optical heart-rate monitoring system. The band offers typical smartwatch functions, including notifications for incoming messages, emails, calls and calendar events. The only notable feature not incorporated is GPS, which Polar’s M400 does offer.
Although relatively simple looking, the A360’s display is a vertical rectangle, with a color touchscreen. The design is an effective way to display both the time and an array of fitness stats. A single charge offers a battery life of up to two weeks, which includes activity tracking and a daily hour-long fitness session.
The A360 currently retails at $190 and is available starting in November with black or white color options for the silicone band, with green, blue and pink launching shortly after.
