One of the world’s most revered fashion houses is getting into the wearables game. Designer Emanuel Ungaro is collaborating with the wearable technology developer Omate on the Ungaro Ring, a lovely bauble that gently vibrates when the wearer receives a call or text message.
Inspired by the design of Ungaro’s popular Diva perfume bottle, the Ungaro ring features a pattern reminiscent of a seashell, and can be topped with a blue topaz, onyx, opalite, ruby or sapphire gem, depending on the price. It is plated in 18K gold or silver. It only alerts the wearer to a single contact, which she selects on her smart phone. Currently, it links via Bluetooth LE to an iOS smart phone, with Android support rolling down the pipeline early next year.
Emanuel Ungaro and Omate plan a November launch for the ring. For more information, see the full article here.
